What are your hobbies outside of school?
Outside of school I enjoy traveling ( trying new food and new activities), graphic design projects, working out (with really loud music), rooting for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, and doing housework. Well, maybe not the last one.
What is your favorite book for children?
One of my new favorite books is a book Mrs. Johnson read to our class, One by Kathryn Otashi.
My all time favorite is the BFG. Anything by Roald Dahl is amazing!
Who is your hero or heroine?
Growing up, my hero and heroine were my grandpa and grandma. They raised 12 children with very little money but with a lot of love!
What do you love about Dakota Valley?
Without a doubt, the relationships formed with students, parents, and colleagues are the most special to me. With students, I have have so many fond memories of the bear hugs in the hall, the lightbulbs turning on, the "Oh, Ms. Foo, you are so silly" comments and even the little pokes I feel in my back from time to time. It has been a pleasure getting to know parents while they volunteer in the classroom, through school events, and at parent conferences. I am so thankful for my colleagues and appreciate the laughter, late night texts, and amazing lessons I have learned (school and life) from them.
