Why did you choose to work with children?
I have always loved kids and when I was in middle school I decided to become a teacher and work with kids. When I was in high school I was able to volunteer with some special needs kids and I was hooked. I love working with students and providing strategies and instruction to help them learn and experience success. We have to work hard but the rewards are priceless!

Where did you go to college?
I was a native Floridian (yes Florida is beautiful but I’ve had enough humidity and heat for a lifetime) before moving to Colorado in 1998. I got my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida and my Master’s degree from Regis University in Denver. I love to learn and continue to grow and learn beyond my Master’s degree.

What is your favorite noise?
My favorite noise is a child’s giggle. It makes me smile and laugh each time I hear it and brightens the day.

Do you have any hidden talents?
I love to cook, quilt, and garden.

What is your favorite book for children?
My favorite book for kids would be “Black Beauty”. I love it and loved reading it to my own kids.

What is your favorite treat?
I try to eat healthy and love most fruit, but I love a small amount of dark chocolate daily.

What do you love about Dakota Valley?
I love being so close to home and the “family feel” of Dakota Valley. I have loved getting to know students and staff and I am honored to be working with so many gifted and committed educators.
