What are your hobbies outside of school?
I enjoy playing the piano, and I’m learning to play the guitar. (Not that great yet, won’t be joining a band anytime soon… ☺) I love to hike and enjoy the outdoors, but my hikes are more like relaxing nature walks, not intense 14ers. I’m also an avid reader, when I can find the time. And of course I love spending time with my huge family.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I am fluent in Italian, and I make a mean marinara sauce.
What is your favorite book?
Hard to pick just one, but I do love The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society, having recently re-read it for the fourth time. I think something about the calming, English country life intrigues me…
What is your favorite treat?
Fresh raspberries are my absolute favorite – I can eat pints of them at a time. And put them on cheesecake or combine dark chocolate in some way, and I’m in heaven.
What is the funniest thing a student has ever said to you?
I find it entertaining when my kiddos are just starting to learn to correct a sound error and initially don’t realize that they are not producing it correctly. One little kiddo who struggled with the /r/ sound said to me, “I’m saying it wight, but evewybody heohs (hears) me wong.” (I’m saying it right, but everybody hears me wrong.) My speech kiddos make my job fun!
