Why did you choose to work with children? In high school I got the opportunity to work at an elementary school for one of my classes. I was able to help in several classrooms and found that I really loved working with kids. Ever since then I knew I wanted to be a teacher.


Where did you go to college? I went to Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee to get my Bachelor’s Degree. I got my Master’s Degree online from The University of Texas.


What is your favorite noise? My favorite noise is the sound of students working together to come up with new and amazing ideas. The excitement in their voices as they collaborate is awesome!


What is your hometown? I grew up in Pueblo, Colorado.


Do you have any hidden talents? I can make animal balloons!


What kind of music do you like? I like all kinds of music! I like listening to Classical Goes Pop in the classroom and everything else in the car and while I’m working.


Favorite Book? I love anything by Dr. Seuss but my most Favorite is What Was I Scared Of?


What is your favorite book for children? Again, anything by Dr. Seuss. ☺

What is your favorite treat? Chocolate for sure!

What is your favorite book, movie, TV show? I love the Harry Potter series (books and movies).


What are your hobbies outside of school? I love to run! I enjoy gardening, walking my dogs and spending time with my kids.


What is your favorite board game? Clue!


What is your funniest moment teaching? Having to say the words “Please stop licking your knee during our math lesson.”


Do you have any pets? I have two dogs and a turtle.


Who is your hero or heroine? My mom is my heroine! She is the most loving, caring and strong person I know.

 
What do you love about Dakota Valley? I love the feel of family at Dakota Valley, how everyone takes care of each other (teachers, staff, students, and families.)
