Mrs. Arant

Why did you choose to work with children?
I can vividly remember being a first grader, asking my teacher for extra worksheets, taking them home and setting up my own classroom in the basement for my stuffed animals. I guess you can say I wanted to be at teacher at a young age.

Where did you go to college?
Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. I got my Bachelors and Master’s degree at BGSU.

What is your favorite noise?
My children playing nicely together. Evelyn is 5 and Harrison is 2 so those moments are far and few between.

What is your hometown?
Cleveland, Ohio. I am still a big Ohio State and a Cavalier fan.

What is your favorite book for children?
Thank you , Mr. Falker. I was able to meet Patricia Polacco a couple of years ago, a true inspiration.

What is your favorite treat?
Red Vines.

What is the funniest thing a student has ever said to you?
It was a couple of years ago. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and after thanksgiving break a student said “Mrs. Arant, I think you ate too much turkey!”

What are your hobbies outside of school?
Does sleep count?! Also, long days at the pool and long days on the ski slopes.

Do you have any pets?
We have one dog. He is a cockapoo named Brutus.

What do you love about Dakota Valley?
Dakota Valley feels like a home. It has been my school home for the past 13 years. I love seeing old students and families. I can’t imagine being anywhere else☺
